Peabody Park Pavilion

Built more than 100 years ago, the Peabody Park Pavilion was once a popular gathering place — the perfect location for a neighborhood event or casual get-together. Today, the park is a popular playground serving the historic Cooper-Young, Idlewild, Central Gardens and Lennox School neighborhoods.

The playground was upgraded by the city in 2000, but due to a lack of funds, the Peabody Park Pavilion was left untouched. In 2011, we made the restoration of the Peabody Park Pavilion our first project. Preservation Memphis raised $13,000 for the restoration, which was completed in just two months.
